West Columbia Beautification Foundation to Host “Taste on the River” Tuesday, February 26, 2019

West Columbia, SC (January 14, 2019, 11:07 AM) — The West Columbia Beautification Foundation is hosting the 3rd Annual “Taste on the River” on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, from 6 PM – 9 PM, at Stone River, 121 Alexander Road, West Columbia, SC. The best restaurants from West Columbia and Columbia are coming together for a fun evening to showcase their cuisine to help beautify West Columbia.

Over the past two years, the Taste on the River events raised over $20,000 to plant trees and shrubbery along Sunset Boulevard from Meeting Street to I-26. The tax-deductible tickets and donations will help the Foundation take the plantings to other areas of the city, including Augusta Highway. Tickets are $50 per person and include two drink tickets, restaurant samples, and a silent auction. They can be purchased at https://www.silentauctionpro.com/onlineticketpurchase.php?groupId=1155 or by calling Colleen Otte at 803-791-1880 *616.

For sponsorship opportunities or to donate silent auction items for the event, please contact Kelli Ricard at kricard@westcolumbiasc.gov or 803-791-1880, Ext. *623.

The West Columbia Beautification Foundation is committed to redefining West Columbia as an impressive and attractive place to live, work, or visit by involving the entire community in positive beautification efforts. In 2007, local community leaders, elected officials, and city staff collaborated to establish the West Columbia Beautification Foundation, a nonprofit organization designed to energize West Columbia as an attractive place to live, work, and visit. The West Columbia Beautification Foundation partners with the City to beautify both public and private areas through landscaping. The Foundation solicits individual and corporate sponsorships to aid the city in obtaining funds for beautification projects along West Columbia’s major thoroughfares, expansion of tree canopy and the development of green spaces. Twelve Foundation directors were selected from persons who live, work, or own businesses in the city. These directors are working with the city and citizens to make genuine changes that will have a long-term positive impact on the economy, environment, and livability of the West Columbia community. The Foundation is a non-profit corporation under the SC Nonprofit Corporation Act as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.
