How do I register my dog(s)?

FIRST TIME Registration Process:

  1. Download and complete the application – Application – Fillable PDF
  2. Email applications and vaccine records to barkwest@westcolumbiasc.gov or bring the following required documents and completed application to City Hall.
    Current, up-to-date records of:

    • Rabies vaccination
    • Parvo (DHPP) vaccination
    • Kennel Cough vaccinations
    • Record of spay/neuter
  3. Receive access card once application is approved and payment is made
  4. Ensure you keep your immunization records up-to-date

ANNUAL FEE RATES:
3 dogs per household (maximum)
• First two dogs: $25
• Additional dog: $10
Applicants will be given a key card for park access.
Keycard replacements will be $10.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. The dog park is open from sunrise to sunset.
  2. Only spayed and neutered dogs are allowed on park grounds.
  3. Dogs must be current on vaccinations.
  4. No animals other than dogs may be brought into the fenced area.
  5. All dogs must be leashed when outside of the fenced area.
  6. Dog owners must remain in the fenced area while their dogs are using the dog park. Do not leave your dog unattended at the park.
  7. Dog owners must always keep their dog(s) in sight and have voice control. Pay attention so that you can intervene and control the situation. Your dog depends on you to take care of them.
  8. Children accompanying dog owners must be strictly supervised and at least ten years old to be allowed inside. Spectators should remain outside the fenced area.
  9. Aggressive dogs are not allowed, and owners must immediately leash and remove dogs from the park at the first sign of aggressive behavior.
  10. Please be courteous to others and remove any sick dogs from the dog park.
  11. Be aware of your surroundings and give space to others and their dogs, especially when entering and exiting the park.
  12. Owners must dispose of waste properly in the designated onsite containers.
  13. Smoking, vaping, and eating are not allowed inside the dog park, including dog treats/food.
  14. Please fill in any holes your dog may dig for the safety of yourself and others.
  15. No running or chasing dogs within the fenced, off-leash areas.
  16. No more than three (3) dogs per person are allowed on any single visit.
  17. Puppies less than four (4) months old are not permitted.
  18. Keycards are required for entry. Do not let in other dog owners without a keycard; this is a hazard and will result in loss or suspension of your park access.
  19. Owners are liable for any injury or damage caused by his/her dogs and are fully responsible for his/her dogs’ actions.
  20. Report all incidents immediately to the West Columbia Police Department at (803) 794-0721 ext. 221.
  21. No loitering is allowed on the property.
  22. Owners must use the designated play area based on dog’s weight.

We reserve the right to revoke or suspend park access if the rules and regulations are violated.

Key card replacements are $10.
