News Release
Boil Water Advisory Issued

The City of West Columbia has issued a boil water advisory for water customers bordered by the following area:

· All water customers in the area south of U.S. Hwy 378 (Sunset Boulevard), east of 12th Street, north of E (Evergreen) Avenue, and west of the Saluda and Congaree River.

Customers in this area may have experienced low water pressure due to a break in a water line on Alexander Road. West Columbia crews are working to repair the break. Once the water line is repaired and water service is restored, water customers in this area and any water customers near this area who have lost water pressure are advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking. Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

Water customers may check the city of West Columbia website at www.westcolumbiasc.gov for updates on the boil water advisory.

Water customers may also contact customer service at City Hall between 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at 803.791.1880. Emergencies occurring after hours and on weekends and holidays should be reported to the West Columbia Police Department at 803.794.0721.

Issued at 6:08 PM on Saturday, August 1, 2015.
