City of West Columbia Closes Offices Due to Hurricane Matthew

In preparation for Hurricane Matthew, Governor Haley has issued a mandatory evacuation of South Carolina’s coast. Consequently, the Governor has closed state government offices and schools and has asked local jurisdictions to do the same in an effort to keep vehicles off of roadways. At the direction of Governor Haley, the City of West Columbia will close its offices on October 5, 6, and 7. As of now, the county landfill will be open Wednesday. The City plans to continue curbside garbage collection until further notice.
