Councilman Boyd Jones Elected Vice President of Lexington County Municipal Association

West Columbia, SC (Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 12:05 PM) – The City of West Columbia is honored to announce that Councilman Boyd Jones was elected Vice President of the Lexington County Municipal Association (LCMA). The LCMA is made up of elected officials from the 14 municipalities in Lexington County.

City of West Columbia Councilman Boyd Jones said, “It is always a privilege to be elected to such an important position that allows me the opportunity to gather information from our region and bring it to Washington, D.C. where I serve on the National League of Cities Economic Development Advisory Committee Board of Directors.”

Councilman Boyd Jones was elected to West Columbia City Council in 2005. He has represented the State of South Carolina with the National League of Cities Economic Development Advisory Committee Board of Directors since 2012. Councilman Jones was appointed by Governor Dick Riley to the Midlands Human Resource Development Commission Board of Directors for Richland, Lexington, Fairfield, and Kershaw Counties. He is also a member of the following: Lexington County Municipal Association, Municipal Association of South Carolina, Caucus of Black Municipal Elected Officials, National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials representing Congressional District 2, and the National League of Cities Small Cities Council.
