Road Closure Advisory Issued
Several roadways in the City of West Columbia are closed due to flooding or trees The following areas should be avoided due to blocked or closed roads:
1600 Charleston Highway
2000 Platt Springs Road
200 Alexandria Street
Thornton Street at Hammond Avenue
1200 Charleston Highway
Botanical Parkway
600 C Avenue
Marble Street at Augusta Street
Comanchee Trail between Mohawk Drive and Seminole Drive
Mohawk Drive at Saluda River Drive
Hummingbird Drive
1200 block of Shull Street
Augusta Road (US HWY 1) at 12th Street
Drivers should avoid these areas. Drivers are reminded to never enter into standing or moving water on the roadway. Dangerous conditions exist. Drivers should turn around and not enter these areas. Please immediately report dangerous road conditions to the West Columbia Police Department by calling 803-794-0721. Emergencies should be reported by calling 911.
The City of West Columbia also asks pedestrians to stay away from flooded areas. Conditions change rapidly and “sight-seeing” may place pedestrians in peril. Please remain in a safe location.
