The West Columbia Fire Department has reopened the 2000 – 2100 blocks of Sunset Boulevard (U.S. Hwy 378) in West Columbia. Traffic had been diverted in the area while emergency crews responded to a gas leak at Cougar Drive.  Motorists were asked to avoid Sunset Boulevard from Hook Avenue to Hummingbird Drive.  It appears that a leak was caused when workers boring under the roadway struck a gas line near Cougar Drive and Sunset Boulevard.
