By December 4, 2020Good News

West Columbia, SC (December 4, 2020, at 5:15 PM) – The City of West Columbia invites the public to view the 16th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting video. The tree lighting was pre-recorded for the 2020 Christmas Season due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Mayor Tem Miles said, “While we can’t come together in person this year, we are excited to present our virtual Christmas tree lighting. We invite you to interact with our new sculptures throughout the River District including the kayak tree at the Riverwalk, the kid’s Santa Canoe at Carraway Park, and our giant lightbulbs and presents at the Interactive Art Park. The heart of West Columbia has new decorations adorning light poles and City Hall. From City Council and my family to yours, we wish you, your family, and friends a happy and healthy Christmas season.”

Each year, West Columbia area elementary schools hold a “What Christmas Means To Me” student artwork contest. The winning top three entries will be displayed on the Art on State wall in the Interactive Art Park at 425 Meeting Street, West Columbia.

The video includes a Christmas Greeting from Mayor Tem Miles and his family and the tree lighting.
