West Columbia Amphitheater Temporarily Closed for Upgrades

West Columbia, SC (August 1, 2017 at 10:22 AM) – The West Columbia Amphitheater and parking lot to the South end of the Riverwalk is temporarily closed to the public for improvements to the amphitheater. The seating and stage areas are being resurfaced to improve the experience for all visitors to the Riverwalk.

The West Columbia Riverwalk and Amphitheater is a frequented spot for rafters, Rhythm on the River Concert goers, and other events in the Midlands. The first event to be held at the Amphitheater after the upgrades are complete will be Solar Fest West – A Total Eclipse in the Park, the eclipse viewing event on August 21, 2017, from 12 PM – 4 PM.

The sand and gravel from the amphitheater seating and stage areas are being removed and concrete will be poured in its place. The Riverwalk remains open and is accessible from the Moffitt Street entrance to the Gervais Street Bridge. The City of West Columbia will notify the public when the Amphitheater re-opens. Please contact Public Information Officer Anna Huffman at 803-939-8613 or ahuffman@westcolumbiasc.gov with questions.
