West Columbia Beautification Foundation Tribute for Trees Event Raises Over $25,000

West Columbia, SC (October 20, 2017 at 12:34 PM) — The West Columbia Beautification Foundation raised $25,550 at the Tribute for Trees event held on September 26, 2017.

Foundation Chairperson Melissa Sprouse Browne said, “We’re thrilled that this year’s event was even more successful than in years past. The money raised through the Tribute for Trees is important. Without the support of the community, these projects wouldn’t be possible.”

The funds raised at the Tribute for Trees will be used for the continued beautification of Sunset Boulevard in the City of West Columbia with the planting of trees, shrubbery, and flowers.

The third annual celebration included Hors d’oeuvres from Café Strudel, entertainment by Bob Michalski, the Sax Man, and wine/beer. Authors from the newly added Author Fair, elected officials, and emcee Joe Pinner were in attendance. The Foundation appreciates the support of all of its sponsors, including: Soda City Friends, Lexington Medical Center Foundation, Frank’s Car Wash Corporate Office, House of Raeford Farms, Inc., Hurricane Construction, L. Ed Kirkland and Company, Michael J. Mungo Foundation, Moore Taylor Law Firm, The Wade Corporation, and Richard S. Jones.

If you are interested in making a donation, all donations are tax deductible and can be mailed to: West Columbia Beautification Foundation, PO Box 4044, West Columbia, SC 29171. Also, the foundation is requesting assistance from local businesses in the installation and/or maintenance of the plantings.
