About the Kinetic Derby Day
This year will be the First Annual Kinetic Derby Day . It is billed as a unique celebration and a tribute to gears, wheels, sculpture and gravity. Featuring a parade of kinetic sculptures (no motors, all human-powered floats) and an afternoon of adult and kid soapbox derby racing, everyone is invited to lend their creativity and be a part of the festivities.

Build a float, create a costume or just come by to cheer on design ingenuity as we careen down Meeting Street into a giant, messy grits finishing zone. Then, browse the booths featuring local artists, parade sculptures and vendors selling and displaying arts and crafts. We hope to see you there.
