The West Columbia Police Department invites the community for the Sensory Friendly Touch-A-Truck event. This unique gathering provides a perfect opportunity for families to engage with law enforcement officers and other public safety professionals in a sensory-friendly environment.
West Columbia Police Chief Marion Boyce stated, “I’m excited to offer this event to our community. This event allows families to connect with us in law enforcement as well as other public safety professionals. It is important to me and my staff at the West Columbia Police Department to continue to build and maintain relationships with our community members.”

The event is specifically designed to ensure a calm and safe space for everyone, especially for individuals with sensory issues. To create a welcoming atmosphere, there will be no alarms or flashing lights during the event.
The Touch-A-Truck event offers a unique opportunity to interact with first responders outside of an emergency situation, fostering understanding and trust between the community and those who protect and serve. It’s a chance for both children and adults to explore emergency vehicles, ask questions, and learn about the important work of our local heroes.
