West Columbia Police Make Arrests In Shooting Incident

(West Columbia, S.C.)- The West Columbia Police Department has arrested Jamal T. Johnson B/M, 18 of 801 Violet St., West Columbia and Marcus J. Johnson B/M, 22 of 801 Violet St., West Columbia.

The arrests are related to a shooting incident that occurred at 703A Violet St. on April 13, 2015. The victim, Jerome R. Franklin was shot one time in the lower abdomen. The victim was taken to Richland Memorial Hospital that evening. The victim is still currently in the Hospital. The exact motive for this crime is unknown at this time.

Jamal T. Johnson was charged with: Attempted Murder, Criminal Conspiracy and Possession of a firearm/knife during the commission of a violent crime.

Marcus J. Johnson was charged with: Attempted Murder, Criminal Conspiracy, Possession of a firearm/knife during the commission of a violent crime and Possession of a firearm by person convicted of a felony.
