West Columbia’s Kinetic Derby Day will be Covered in Yarn

West Columbia, SC (April 15, 2019, at 10:55 AM) – West Columbia’s 2nd Annual Kinetic Derby Day will include the beautiful work of the Yarnbombers of Columbia.

The Yarnbombers will begin working on the 100 Block of State Street installation, Friday, April 26, 2019, around 12 PM, to have the art ready for Kinetic Derby Day that Saturday, April 27. The Yarnbombers will be a part of the Jasper Project Artisan Village on State Street and will be teaching participants how to crochet and knit simple items such as pom poms. Members of the group will be available to answer questions and teach different techniques.

Lead Artist of the Yarnbombers, Bohumila Augustinova, said, “We are excited to yarn bomb in West Columbia and be a part of Kinetic Derby Day. “

The Jasper Project Artisan Village will be on State Street, from 11 AM – 3 PM, during Kinetic Derby Day. Multiple artists will be setup exhibiting, demonstrating, and interacting with art.
